Victoria Spence creates real and authentic experiences, powerful ceremony and lasting memories.

Victoria began as a Civil Celebrant in 2002 to expand the realm of choices and quality of experiences for people when they found themselves face-to-face with death, grief and loss. Navigating the hospital system, advocating and enabling a death at home, or organising a funeral that was real, meaningful, and perhaps outside of the ordinary realm of choices.

With 20 years of practice as an artist making theatre and performance works and events, Victoria came to understand that in order to best support people through dying and death, she could best do this by holding death and part of life.

Life Rites, meets you at all of the significant events of your life, from birth through dying and death and after death and ongoing bereavement care.

Once a celebrant and a counsellor,  she completed a Masters in Death, Dying and Palliative Care. Victoria continues to pioneer collaborative relationships across the health system and funeral industry, cultural industries and community sectors. Since 2001 she has worked and trained with Alice Cummins in the somatic practice, Body Mind Centering.

She is pleased to launch Life Rites Holistic Funeral Services alongside her Guidance, Counselling and Ceremonial Services.
