Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD)

Life Rites Doulas Kim Somerville and Victoria Spence are seated on a lounge in the Life Rites meeting space with a gentle and welcoming disposition.

As of 28th November, 2023, Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) has become possible for eligible people in NSW. Since then, the Life Rites team of Doulas and Funeral Directors have already worked with many people who have taken this option. In light of our long and varied experience with end-of-life we were also consulted with by the local area health service in knowing how to set up compassionate and informed accompaniment models for this new pathway.

Please feel free to be in touch with any questions for you or a loved one or to arrange our companioning any and every step of your way.
